PocketCard Approval and Posting Process

Creators
Step 1. Local unit produces/updates PocketCard(s) following standards and guidelines described on the NWCG FAMWEB PocketCard Web Page. Preferred format for the PocketCard is PNG, JPG or PDF. Assistance in creating a PocketCard can be obtained from your Agency Approver or any member of the FDSC
Step 2. Save your pocket card to the appropriate unit folder using the following file naming convention:
YEAR_STATE_UNIT_FDRA_INDICIES_FUEL MODEL

IF your unit uses names for the FDRA, insert the appropriate name. (valley, east, north, low elevation). This naming convention helps users find the most recent version, establishes the location it is associated with, notes the indices and fuel model being used.Step 3. Send the pocket card file to the agency approver identified on the Geographic Leads list. Contact information for geographic leads can be found here:

Approval and Posting
Step 1. Geographic Leads will review the submitted pocket card(s) using the NWCG Interagency Pocket Cards Checklist and determine is the standards are met. If approved, the Geographic Lead will forward to the NFDRS Program Manager, scott.linn@usda.gov, for posting. If the pocket card does not meet NWCG standards, the appropriate feedback will be provided to the creator.
Step 2. Once the card is posted, a return email will be provided to the submitting party to confirm its display and posting.
